Dear everyone,
Thank you so much for your prompt replies. The concensus from everyone and advice from our Bruker technician was that we leave the system off until we sorted out our problems and that we shouldn't 'cool down' for a short period of time.
It was also mentioned that we should close the vacuum plug as soon as possible once we 'warmed up' and that we could leave the roughing pump on (by turning the power on to the cooling unit ; this does not require the compressor) to get rid off/prevent any moisture build up.
I hope this also helps anyone who may ever get into a similar predicament.
Best regards,
Nadia Singh
