AMMRL: Cryoprobe and Power failure

Hi Everyone,

We have a 600 MHz Cryoprobe and recently our generator stopped working after some electrical work was done on our block. Fortunately, the system was 'warmed up' before. In our case, our generator can be turned on manually but it does not come on automatically therefore we cannot leave it on overnight.

It has been about a week since the system was 'warmed up'. I had planned to 'cool down' the system, leave it cold for about 2-3 hrs and then 'warm up' the system again. After making this decision I was informed that the problem should be fixed by next week which means that the system will be down for about 2 weeks.

I will appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation or who is knowledgeable about this issue.

Should I continue with :
1. The planned 'cool down' and 'warm up' after a couple hours
OR 2. Leave the system and then 'cool down' when everything is fixed completely.

What are the possible problems associated with both scenarios and which may be best? I know that 'warming up' and 'cooling down' too often can be bad for the probe however leaving it for too long may cause a moisture build up which may cause problems during 'cool down'? Since this is an urgent matter all replies will be welcome as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your help.
