Hi folks,

First, many thanks for all the info about inner inserts for
my broken Nalorac probe.

Many mentioned Wilmad as a source, but they do have a
minimum $200 order, so 3 would have to be ordered.
I did get one thru Varian direct. There was
plenty of work to get ALL the broken insert out,
now the gradients are "flaky" but I hope to have
the probe functioning well at some point this weekend.

On the subject of construction, I would like to ask for
advice/comments on what your facility did in regards to
insurance/security during construction. As many of you know,
here at Western a 'stimulus' (my word) project will add an annex
to our chem building, meaning the removal of an exterior wall
that is 9 feet from our actively shielded 500 MHz.

We have decided to build octagon plywood boxes around our
500 and 300 for safety (like the Univ of Montana did in 2005),
but as y'all know other things can (and do) happen. Ed Waali
mentioned that "the presence of a responsible university person
was required when work was going on in the room. By present,
we meant close at hand and constantly checking on the workers."

What else should the contractor/University do/have as
far as "insurance"/"liability bond".

Thanks for your input (as usual) -charles
