2009 NMRFAM Protein Structure Determination Workshop
Date: May 31-June 5, 2009
Location: Department of Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison,
433 Babcock Drive, Madison, WI 53704.
Purpose: This introductory, hands-on workshop will cover the basic
steps involved in solving a protein structure by NMR and give
participants an opportunity to practice these steps in hands-on
sessions led by the NMRFAM staff using triple-resonance NMR data
collected at NMRFAM on labeled ubiquitin. Emphasis will be placed on
manual methods of peak assignments using Sparky combined with the
automated assignments obtained from PINE
(
http://pine.nmrfam.wisc.edu <
http://miranda.nmrfam.wisc.edu/PINE/>). The
skills taught are
important for the verification of the automated assignments and for
the (typical) additional manual assignments required to complete the
structure.
