NMR detection of dilute impurities

Dear Spectroscopists,

I hesitate to ask such a simple question, but if anyone knows a good
method to look for dilute impurities, could they send me a reference?

I was in a meeting with a group of synthetic organic chemists who were
discussing how to test for an impurity from the result of a synthesis.
They were convinced that the NMR minimal limit of detection of an
impurity was about 2%. If anyone knows a better way than a simple
pulse-acquire estimation, perhaps they could respond with a short note?
