Dear AMMRL,
We are running VnmrJ 1.1D on a Mercury 300. Normally we run samples at
ambient temperature, which is fine for this instrument's user base of
organic chemists.
All of our standard parameters are set to have variable Temperature turned
off. Nonetheless we have encountered a problem recently where the
temperature control is turned on and set to 25C anytime su is done or an
acquisition begun. We can then turn the temperature off but every time su
is entered or acquisition is begun the temperature control is turned on
again. I can't come up with any way to turn it off and keep it off. I
have tried su acqproc, setacq, and also a host reboot. The temperature
control keeps turning on.
There is a Varian bug report on this under "temp" with a workaround that
says be sure to set temp='n' before su or acquisition. I have tried this
and it does NOT work for me, the temperature comes back on.
This problem occurs for all parameter sets and seems to be true for all
accounts.
How can I get variable temperature to turn off and STAY off?
