Dear AMMRL,
We have a Varian MercuryPlus 300 MHz that is showing a problem with the
lock. Initially when one views the swept lock display only noise is seen,
even for maximal lock power and gain. We have found that if we close the
lock display, do a single observe scan acquisition (unlocked), and re-open
the lock display, the normal strong "beat" pattern of the swept lock is seen.
Initially this problem happened only occasionally but now it is happening
frequently, to the point where for every sample we need to do the single
scan to bring back the lock signal. This occurred both in Vnmr and has
continued in our recent conversion to VnmrJ.
Any suggestions on fixing this would be appreciated!
