There have been times in the past where some cooled samples have blow if
warmed up too quickly before entering the cold probe. This is while
doing extremely low temp NMR (freon solv.) The glass shop also had NMR
tubes blow while sealing and handling (unknown solv).
Glasses and shield protection was necessary. We had one incident of
glass embeded into chest and chin(glass blower and observer, not too
deep). Normally we dont use eye/face protection unless there is some
doubt about the pressure in a sealed tube.
