I'm skipping ENC again - still in the midst of expansion (both facility and
waistline), new instrument is coming, and things won't quiet down in time
for me to be away. This is a big step - I am finally creating to my liking
the NMR Facility that I will administer for another 15 or 20 years. By late
spring I will have 75% more sq ft, an almost new 4-channel Inova 500, a new
dual-fullband Inova 300, and a multinuclear Mercury 400 with Auto-tune.
I will try to work up the salary data soon. If you haven't contributed your
data yet, there's still time. I have had some requests for current data and
the data set is smaller than it has been before. I note particularly that
many highly-compensated AMMRL members have dropped out of the data set,
skewing the mean low. Please put "salary" in the subject line and the
following is requested:
AMMRL SALARY SURVEY 2004-2005
(1)Your name
(2)Your institution
(3)Years since the baccalaureate
(4)Total MHz of your facility
(5)Number of people reporting to you
(6)Your gross annual salary in $US
(7)whether low, medium, or high cost of living where you are
*** I have been informed that benefits can be DRAMATICALLY
different. If your bennies are poor, figure that in your answer.***
