     After years of requests, I finally am able to hire some help! A
description of the job follows:

Magnetic Resonance Professional

The UCLA Dept. of Chemistry & Biochemistry is seeking a highly motivated
individual for a full-time staff position to provide all aspects of
technical support for the application of magnetic resonance to solution of
a wide range of research problems in chemistry, biochemistry, and materials
science. The departmental shared Magnetic Resonance Laboratory is
currently comprised of five liquid sample nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
spectrometers, one solid-state NMR spectrometer, and one electron
paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer. This equipment is utilized by
approximately 200 individual users from 28 different faculty research groups.

General responsibilities include the design of experimental methods for the
application of modern magnetic resonance methods (NMR and EPR) to research
problems, training of researchers to use these methods, design and
development of hardware and software improvements to the equipment,
maintenance and performance checking of magnetic resonance spectrometers,
and user management support. Applicants must have demonstrated skill in
the application of magnetic resonance methods to chemical research,
hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting, and excellent
interpersonal skills to interact with variety of researcher with varying
scientific backgrounds.
