Back in the very early days of AMMRL, I seem to recall weighty printouts of
the AMMRL member database being mailed (snail-mailed) to all members. This
listing included their location/department, and instruments used in the lab
that each member was responsible for. The info was compiled from the
membership form that was (still is??) required to obtain inclusion on the
AMMRL mail list.
Are these forms still required, and does the database reside somewhere on
someone's computer?? I think Vera Mainz did these original mailings.
If this info is around, and members are happy having their lab info
displayed on the web, this would be a very simple solution to the above
problems.
Type of experiments could be, at the very least, be inferred from the
instrument type - altho I guess there is more blurring of the lines these
days. Still, I don't think anyone does biomolecule structure on a 4.7T
horizontal magnet..... :-)
If there are too many questions here.... maybe it would be a good topic for
the meeting at ENC!
Cheers
Ross
