Hi, Everybody
I have recently encounter a problem with my 500 smart BBFO probe. I have found the proton frequency has shifts to higher side. There are more than ten MHz away from the resonance position. I have checked it carefully but failed to find anything. When I tried to disassemble the gradient coil from the probe, I have seen something is quite different from old probe. Generally, Bruker use Helmholtz coil for the old probe but they have changed it to birdcage coil for smart probe. The coil is more complicated than before. There were a small capacitor between each leg. More importantly, two capacitors on the top of the coils were missed. According to the literature, this may be the reason why the proton frequency have shifted to higher side. Now, my question is that if I could find any capacitor available for this special high resolution probe?
I have remembered something happened before. This probe was used offen for high temperature measurement. Occasionally, tuning or matching couldn't work very well during the high temperature measurement, for example, 140 oC. This phenoman has indicated that something has happenned in this probe. but I failed to notice that. I am very curious if this probe with birdcage coil be suitable for high temperature experiments because there were a lot of joints in the coil. Anybody have suggestion?
Best wishes
