Scientist

Job Responsibilities
--Development, adaptation and application of new NMR methods - implement and
apply scientific and technological innovation according to project needs
--Programming of UNIX shell scripts and macros, application of NMR automation
tools
--Operation and maintenance of NMR spectrometers including cryogen services,
control of NMR hardware specifications
--Measurement and interpretation of one and multi-dimensional NMR spectra for
structure elucidation and verification
--Working with spectroscopic databases and support archiving of NMR data
--Cross functional and collaborative research

Profile
--PhD or Post-doctoral degree with hands-on experience in NMR spectroscopy as
well as sound knowledge in organic chemistry and related fields
--Preferably at least 5 years of professional experience
--Strong background, knowledge and profound experience in NMR spectroscopy
(e.g., applications of modern NMR techniques, experience with modern pulse
techniques, method development, solution and/or solid state NMR)
--Experience with Bruker NMR spectrometers and software is highly desirable
--Familiarity with other spectroscopic methods like MS, FT-IR and UV/Vis and
their coupling techniques
--Ability to develop new methods and approaches in automation and robotic
systems
--Familiar with LINUX (CentOS) and MS Windows based environments
--Excellent team spirit, communication skills and networking capacity
--Organization skills and workflow development/management
--Highly creative to address fundamental and practical challenges
--Leadership, capability to lead and develop a team of highly motivated
collaborators
--Fluent in English, fluent in French or German would be considered a plus
