Hi AMMRLers:
I am trying to figure out what went wrong with the proton tuning channel on my Mercury Vx 400. It did not show a reflective power dip with mtune, instead it was more like a positive spike. It did not move when I tuned it. It also happened on my another probe. The broadband channel was able to tune/match. Here I have done:
1. Double-checked all the cable connections from the amp in the console all the way to the preamp.
Now I want to check the preamp, does anyone know how to check this part and would kindly give me the procedures. There are three high band power numbers on the back of the amp: 35W/75W/125W? What do they specify?
