The University of Kentucky Department of Chemistry seeking an NMR Facility Manager to oversee day-to-day operation of the facility, keep instrumentation, software and records up to date, instruct users in the use of the instrumentation and assist in the writing of proposals to acquire and develop the instrumentation. Daily duties will involve maintaining the instruments, trouble-shooting hardware and software, modest repairs as needed and coordinating major repairs to be conducted by specialists. The facility manager will be responsible for nurturing a strong user community by providing initial training, ongoing user training in standard methods for more advanced work and working with groups implementing project-specific experiments. The manager will maintain a list of users and their information, keep track of use, bill users subject to billing, maintain the facility web site, LAN and reservation system. The manager will update and create documentation to assist users in common experiments, maintain software for executing NMR experiments, analysis, interpretation and presentation, and provide initial training to users.

Minimum qualifications are a Master's Degree and three years of experience. PhD; fully fluent in English with excellent communication skills; NMR spectroscopy; NMR data processing and analysis; Unix; Windows; NMR sample preparation; people skills; and poise under pressure are preferred.
