AMMRL: How to turn off the spin without software

I am now seeing with the increased usage on
our systems that many users logout WITHOUT
turning off the spin on the 'default' No-Name Sample.

Does anyone know of a way to turn the spinning
off without logging into the console computer.

I see this on both our 500 (Varian Inova) and
300 (Varian Mercury-Plus).
I am running VnmrJ 1.1D on Sun workstations
with the excellent Chempack 4.1 overlay package installed.

Any ideas?
