Dear AMMRL,
Recently I posted a query for those with cryoprobes as to whether the
probes were ever, occasionally, or routinely swapped out for other probes.
The responses were overwhelmingly (20 of 23, 87%) that cryoprobes are
always left in the magnet and never removed (unless they need to be sent
out for repair).
Of the remaining three responses only one person routinely (i.e more than
once/month) switched out cryoprobes for usage by other probes, but this
person works in a demo lab for one of the vendors, which is atypical
compared to most of us. Two people changed out cryoprobes infrequently.
Thanks for everyone's responses.
