Radioactive samples

Hello everyone,

One of our users needs to run an experiment using a 14C labeled sample
in our ARX-400. As I understand, this beta emitting sample does not
constitute any hazard as long as it is sealed in the NMR tube. However,
what if it breaks and we have to deal with radioactive spill in the
probe. I am really afraid to load this stuff into our spectrometer!
Does anyone have experience with such samples? Have you developed any
procedures or special precautions for running such experiments?

Best regards,

And

Merry Christmas!

Piotr
