AMMRLers

Many thanks to the many people who responded to my enquiry
about scans originating with the wanadoo.fr network It seems that
almost everybody is having troubles with these guys, and that emails
to abuse_at_ and postmaster_at_ addresses are useless. Eric Gallagher
kindly provided a snail mail address of a real person to send
a complaint, so I may try that route.

It seems that most people (like myself) are relying on tcp wrappers
for protection, but that the growing consensus is that a firewall is
becoming essential. A few provided very helpful information
on several methods of setting one up (I will summarize, if people
like).

I haven't been able to make the past few ENCs, so I'm not up on what
has been discussed at the AMMRL meeting. Perhaps a session on
setting up and configuring firewalls would be a good topic for this year's
ENC. An volunteers?

Cheers, and thanks again!
