We are in the process of designing a new NMR room for 2 new instruments--a
600 and an 800MHz naroow bore instruments. I was wondering if anyone had
information of the following questions:
1) Unfortunately the room will be near an underground parking structure.
We need to get REAL numbers on how close this can be without affectin the
performance of both instruments. We have numbers on the fringe field
dimensions of a unshielded 800 to be 18ft X 25ft. What are the realistic
values that allow good performance?
2) Are there simple ways to shield such a magnet in a small room?
