proton-carbon long-range coupling constants

We have a Bruker 400 MHz spectrometer with an Avance DPX console with
pulse shaping and an inverse broad band probe. We are trying to measure
proton-carbon long range coupling constants using the method of
L. Poppe and H. van Halbeek, J. Magnetic Rsonance, Vol. 93, pp. 214-217
(1991). Attempts to duplicate the experiment have failed.

Has anyone been able to run this experiment on a Bruker spectrometer.
Helpful hints and a successful pulse program would be gratefully
received.
