AMMRL: Questions about Quantum Design ATL160 maintenance (Helium Recovery Liquefier)

I'm coming up on my annual maintenance for my QD ATL160 and suffering from
a bit of sticker shock. The alternatives run the gamut from on-site
service performed by an QD technician, to they provide parts and you do the
work, to finally, ordering parts from Sumitomo perhaps.

Option 1 comes with an extraordinary price tag so it's off the table but
I'm thinking of going through QD this first year and then possibly sourcing
the parts myself in the future.

How many of you have done the annual cold head service yourself and which
route did you take? What was your experience? Is annual maintenance
necessary or have you gone longer?

Thank you for the input!
