Hi AMMRLers,
We wanted to ask the NMR community if anyone can foresee compatibility
issues with using a newer Leybold Sogevac SV16D pump with our Bruker BMPC
II console (instead of the original SV16).
We need back-up rotary vane pumps for our Bruker BMPC II console and,
unfortunately, Leybold no longer makes the SV16. After comparing the specs
for both pumps, I cannot see any crucial differences in performance or
function between the two, but I wanted to reach out and get second opinions
before we pull the trigger and buy one or two.
The specs for the two pumps are here:
(1) Leybold Sogevac SV16

(discontinued)
(2) Leybold Sogevac SV16D
<

When looking at default pictures of the SV16D, I do not see the exhaust
valve on the upper left corner of the pump, which it needs to have in order
to connect to the exhaust lines on the BMPC. Maybe it is an open port and
can be customized upon purchase? This is something I have asked Leybold.
Your opinions on compatibility and/or experience with this issue would be
very helpful. Thank you.
Cheers,
Shamon
