Postdoctoral NMR ApplicationsResearcher.A position is open for a
recent PhD chemistry or physics graduate with principle focus in solid-state
NMR applications.The applicant is expected to have a broad
theoretical and experimental background in modern high-field SSNMR methods
and the equipment associated therewith.Studies or experience
in diverse multinuclear methods for both biological and inorganic samples
required, including quadrupolar and multiple quantum methods using VT-MAS.
Responsibilities will include setting up and running experiments, with
guidance from senior scientists, using state-of-the-art NMR probes on a JEOL
ECA 500 WB NMR spectrometer and communicating their effectiveness. The work
will include both routine
testing and demonstration of new applications and capabilities.Current
development efforts at Doty
Scientific Inc (DSI) are primarily directed toward completing the
commercialization of a CryoMAS NMR probethat will utilize closed-cycle
helium
cryocoolers and high-power cryogenic rf circuitry operating in high vacuum.
Technical writing and presentation skills, demonstrated by substantial
contributions to several peer-reviewed relevant publications and technical
presentations, are required.Studies or experience inDynamic Nuclear
Polarization
(DNP), MRI, and NMR diffusion
methods desirable.Studies or
experience in mechanical engineering, controls engineering, chemical
separation processes, catalysis,high power RF tuned circuits,
manufacturing, and business managementwould all be a plus.
