Dear colleagues,
All of our systems and computers were powered down last week, as a
precaution against any blackouts etc due to this weekend's hurricane.
Yesterday all were powered up, not without some issues. The most serious one
concerns the VT unit of an Inova that is no longer recognized by the system.
Despite console power cycling, acq CPU resetting, VT power cycling, VT
resetting etc the acqstat initially shows "VT Not Reg" and eventually
reverts to "VT Not Present". Of course the temperature cannot be regulated.
The temperature readings of the VT unit and the status module are identical
and reasonable.
The config GUI shows VT Controller Present.
The particular system is a 500 MHz Varian Inova, vintage 1995, with an
Oxford VT controller, model VTC4. It runs VNMR 6.1C under Solaris 8.
Thank you so much for any suggestion or advice.
Best regards,
