NMR Spectroscopist
We have an exciting opportunity for a NMR spectroscopist in our Analytical
R&D Laboratory in Billerica.
You will use various NMR techniques to solve challenging problems in the
fields of chemistry, material
science and engineering that are important to Cabot. You will also perform
multinuclear 1D and 2D NMR
experiments in both the liquid and solid state, including interpretation
and effective communication of
NMR results. From time to time, you will need to employ esoteric NMR
methods, develop novel NMR
methods or employ other spectroscopic techniques to solve unique problems.
The position also requires
executing on existing methods to satisfy business needs and routine
maintenance of the spectrometers.
To succeed, you should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science or
related discipline with at least three
years’ experience working with a variety of NMR methods in an analytical
R&D environment. We expect
you to have broad hands-on experience in applying and developing solid
state NMR and solution NMR
techniques for elucidating chemical structures and molecular dynamics in
polymeric, inorganic, and/or
hybrid composite materials. Experience correlating NMR information with
material
properties is preferred.
