Re: Uninterruptible power supplies for NMR labs

Hello Lawrence,

We have Powervar UPS systems, 3 total. Two ABCE 1440-11 (near
$1000 each) and an ABCE 1100-11. These power a mercury 400MHz, the
computer and the SMS autosampler we have on it. They're somewhat
high-end, but reliable and probably worth the price. It's more than
we need, we haven't got our shim set plugged into it yet.
Another of the NMR guys here uses an APC 1500 on a Mercury, it's
about $500 and he says it works fine, although neither of us has had
a problem with frequent power outages. Hope this helps,

                                 Chris
