External tuning and matching

Hi,

I am fighting a little bit with a probe for
 - protons
 - fluorine
 - carbon and
 - nitrogen
In spite of a lot of attempts to adjust this
probe, we are not able to tune and match proton
and fluorine simultaneously using a real sample.
There seems to be a strong dependence on external
influences maybe especially the impedance of
te cable between probe and preamplifier.
Due to this dependency it might be very difficult
to adjust the probe in the factory.

Maybe it is a better idea to use an external
tuning and matching unit. It seems to be helpful
to manipulate the impedance of the cable between
preamplifier and probe. Unfortunately I have no
idea how I could perform such an external tuning
and matching. The proton channel would be
sufficient.

I would be happy for any helpful hints concerning
external tuning and matching of high resolution
probes.
