Fire-Caused Electrical Shutdowns

NMR Folks,

There are currently numerous forest fires in western Montana, some
very close to town. Several of them have either destroyed or are
threatening electrical transmission lines. We were warned last Friday to
prepare for unannounced power failure. (We hope that this would not cascade
to the NE US to set a new record!)

The Sun is protected with a good surge/brownout/etc. protector but
I'm not sure about the console.

My precaution is to shutdown our UnityPlus 400 (our only NMR)
during high winds events when the fires under the transmission lines are
uncontrollable but bring it back up after the front has passed when fire
crews and water drops can do some good. Do you think that this is overkill?
Thanks!!

Ed Waali
