I have a friend in Poland who received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. While he was a graduate
assistant here, he spent a couple of years as my assistant in the NMR
Facility.
The NMR game in Poland does not have enough opportunity for my friend and
he and his family (the kids are American citizens, having been born here)
would like to come back to the U.S. to see if suitable work can be found.
I have suggested to them that a year's postdoc would be a good launching
point. I think that this guy would be a great NMR Facility manager. When we
worked together on spectrometer repairs, his ideas were always on the mark.
When I wanted calibrations performed or new experiments ironed out, I never
had to explain anything to him twice - sometimes not even once.
This fellow would be a fine addition to any NMR laboratory. If any of you
can help me help him, I'd be grateful.
