Dear colleagues,
Thank you to all who responded to my question. You are a wonderful
group, indeed. As suggested by some of you, here I post the problem and
the solution.
>I am trying to set up a F19-C13 ghmqc experiment on an Inova with 3
>rf channels. The probe is tuned to F19 and I get a good s/n in a F19
>spectrum, as long as dn='H1'. When I turn dn=C13 (or dn='F19',
>homo='y)' all I get is noise. In both cases, dm='n'.
The problem originated in the fact that the second channel is H1
only (channels 1 and 3 are both full band - one can check his particular
configuration by typing config in vnmr). The solution is to use the 3rd
channel for C13 pulses.
One can do this in two ways:
I. (Peter Sandor)
1. Set up the hmqc as normal (ie. dn=C13)
2, create('rfchannel','flag') rfchannel='132'
3, Do not forget to move the 13C bandpass filter to channel 3.
II. (Krish Krishnamurthy)
do a Ch1-Ch3 HMQC experiment. You would set tn='F19', dn='H1' and
dn2='C13'. The 2nd channel is not used. The gHMQC_d2 pulse sequence
in the standard INOVA software will do this for you.
I used the first way and it worked like a charm.
Thank you again,
Ion
