Hello AMMRLers,
We need to re-energize 1 or 2 Varian R2D2 magnets in the near
future. We have, or are in the process of, getting quotes from Varian,
Cryomag, MR Resources, etc. for the job(s). What I'd like to know is, does
anyone know from where, or whom, we could rent the power supply and charging
sticks for the job so we could do it ourselves? The two other people I work
with both have experience with this, and it could potentially make for a
much less expensive option.
I talked to Ben Hamilton at Magnetic Resonance Sales and Service a
couple of months ago when the first of the 2 magnets lost field and he said
he had never rented out his power supply before but that he might consider
it. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this solution to
re-energizing their magnets? Or, even better, does anyone have a power
supply they'd let us borrow ;) ?
