morning. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy, and Professor Vold will be

Dear Colleagues,
We have had very sad news this morning. It appears that our good friend
Gitte Vold has been killed in an accident in Cambridge, England. We know very
little about the circumstances.
As you may know, she was one of our best friends, and a wonderful
colleague at UCSD. She will be very greatly missed. We can't believe that this
has happened.
