file transfer from QE-300

I am having a problem moving files off of the 1280 computer on our QE-300.
Currently we are using a Mac Quadra-650 and the FILTRN program from Tecmag.
I am replacing the Quadra (OS 7.5) with a Mac PowerPC 7100/80 (PPC) with
OS 8.5. It seems that the FILTRN program is not working well on the PPC.
When I try to move a file with the SE command the PPC locks up at 19200
baud. If I change the baud rate to 2400 it works fine for the smaller 1D
file but the 2D DAT file locks it up. I have tried to transfer the files
outside of the CHARM software using the FILTRN program on the QE with no
success.

Is there another method or a program I can use on the PPC so I can move
these files?
I would like to keep the PPC. But if I can't move files to the PPC it is
of no use to me. I would like to move away from the Mac's altogether but
some of the PI's swear by them so I need to keep both platforms available.

PS: Tecmag has been really great and have made several adjustments in their
FILTRN program to get it to work with no success.
