I am just e-mailing to say that I am leaving the University of Iowa at the
end of April.
Although I have never sent out many messages on the ammrl network, I have
been an avid reader of the correspondence. It was particularly interesting
for me to know what problems were being encountered at other NMR labs,
since this allowed me to place the problems we were having at Iowa in some
context. Perhaps more importantly, reading the ammrl mail made me feel to
be a part of a professional community.
I am not certain at this time where I am going to next, or really whether I
will continue to be active in NMR. I am still hoping that I might get a NMR
position in industry, ideally a position with a small molecule/natural
products focus. Who knows, at some time in the future I may be rejoining
the ammrl community from a different location.
