We are in the midst of a new nmr purchase and since I'm new to this area, I
am requesting info regarding two items:

1. some users are interested in purchasing an auto sample changer but we
don't have any experience with one. Are they worth the cost, how reliable
and what are the problems associated with them?

2. if you were going to purchase two probes for a 3-channel 500 system,
which configuration would provide you with the most versatility and ease of
use (we need to accommodate everyone from biochem types doing 31P metabolism
studies to inorganic fluorine chemists)
a) an inverse triple resonance (H,C,X) z-axis gradient probe
b) quad probe (H,P,C,F) z-axis gradient probe
c) broadband etc.
d) other ????

Thanks for your help ---
