Effects of Stray Magnetic Fields

Dear AMMRL Members:
We have recently installed a 400 widebore magnet in our lab and there has
been some safety concern about the long term effects of stray field on
people. The magnet is on the first (bottom) floor, so the main concern is
with the employees whom their desks are directly above the magnet on the
next floor. I know this issue has been discussed in our group before, but I
can not remember when that was. If you have any recent literature
references on this topic, please send me the references.

Related to this matter, I was asked to look for magnetic shields in form of
floor mats(??), or something similar to that. I am checking with MR
Resources, but if you know of any other possible supplier, please let me
know. I am also looking for non-mgnetic, preferably plastic, step ladders.

Any information on the above topics will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mazi.
