I have a position opening in my lab for a research associate. This is a bachelor
or master's position. What follows is an abbreviated job description. The full

Associate scientist in the Analytical department to perform hands-on laboratory
work involving operation and maintenance of solid-state NMR spectrometer, sample
preparation, execution of planned experiments and providing basic data interpretation.
Expected to document results, write reports and present study results to internal
customers. Develop structure/property/performance relationships.
* Operates and maintains solid-state NMR spectrometer (will train if necessary)
and provide basic interpretation.
* Executes basic bench chemistry, e.g., simple separations, liquid-liquid extraction,
centrifugation, vacuum distillation, etc.
* Responsible for sample preparation: working with powders, gels, liquids, some compressed gases.
* Executes planned procedures, experiments, tests, and tasks with attention to observations
and learning. Clearly documents work in notebook.
* Generates data, conducts statistical analysis, and organizes and interprets data to establish
and support new process, materials, and/or application learning.
