Colleagues:
My long running Oxford 300 magnet (circa 1988) blew a gasket, so to speak, and it turns out that I have a 9 Tesla, 400 MHz shielded magnet that I acquired a couple years back sitting in the wings. I am considering repurposing the Agilent/Varian Inova 300 console that has been attached to the Oxford 300 magnet, attaching it to the 400 magnet, etc.. This may be surprisingly easy to do if I can score a few parts (or more difficult if I have to do a bit more soldering).
Does anyone have an Inova 400 console they would be willing to "part" with, or part out? The frequency dependent components that I need on the Inova include high band PTS (420) (single channel is fine, dual would be nice), the lock channel and the high band RF amplifier - and a probe. Some of these I probably have, or can repurpose. My biggest need is with the lock channel and RF amp. Would also be nice to score an 18 channel or better RT shim coil and supply . . . my 300 is equipped with the 14 channel version that is probably a bit soft at 400.
Or - any 400 MHz console at Mercury-Plus or better - preference for "Varian" only because that's what we have around here (software) but a later model Bruker / JEOL would be fine. The purpose will be routine solution spectroscopy and I = 1/2 CPMAS.
(willing to deal - lots of snow in the mountains around here ;-) )
