Hi all,
I'm writing to solicit additional support for our effort to require
publication of pulse sequence codes when introducing new pulse
sequences.
Please recall the email sent a couple of weeks ago that contained the
letter Tara Sprules and I drafted ("AMMRL: ENC '08 followup -
publishing pulse sequences",
http://homepage.mac.com/jkurutz/
FileSharing24.html). We'd like to send it to relevant journal editors
next week, so time is running out for you to sign on to it if you
haven't already done so.
We are very grateful to the 66 signatories who have already emailed
to support this measure. But we would benefit further if we had more
supporters listed. I'd like those of you who share this initiative's
aim but have not emailed yet to just REPLY TO THIS EMAIL - no
verbiage necessary, I'll just add you to our impressive list.
I encourage you to email your support for a tangential reason. Having
a group as diverse as AMMRL agree on something would be tangible
evidence of our strength and our ability to accomplish something
together. Having as many backers as possible will improve our clout.
Keeping the community spirit in mind, a number of people doing solids
NMR and imaging have recommended some journals that should receive
the letter, but which were not enumerated previously. Thanks to all
of you who suggested the following, which we'll include as recipients:
"Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance"
"Journal of Chemical Physics"
"Journal of Physical Chemisty B"
"Magnetic Resonance in Medicine"
Additional journals will be considered, but only if they are primary
sources of pulse sequences, not just places where NMR is discussed.
Thanks for your attention and please reply to this email to support
the request for editorial action.
