Pt-195 NMR in Varian's switchable probe

Dear friends,

I am trying to set up Pt-195 direct detection
experiment on our inova 500 with a switchable probe.
Although the "standard" compound, K2PtCl6 has not
arrived yet, we tried with another organic compound
containing Pt in DMSO. To my dissapointment, all we
see is zig-zag hilly baselines with two very small
signals riding on them.

Looking at the archives, I found Dr. Stephanie Mabry
from University of Maryland (?) had similiar problem
before and asked for help back in 2003, but I could
not reach her with the phone on the email, perhaps
moved. Has anyone successfully got Pt-195 NMR with
varian's switchable probe before? One thing I found
was that I do not have the grey cylinder filter
(bandwidth filters) for the frequency I want (107
MHz). I don't know if the hilly baseline is due to
the probe background or what?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Wei.
