Murray has been a post-doc in my group for several years
during which time he has solved several major protein
structures. He now has a position as a group leader at the
Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology (Department
of Protein Evolution) where he is involved in exciting
research on the evolution of protein folds.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Protein Structure Determination by NMR
A postdoctoral position (Max-Planck-Stipend) is available
in the Department of Protein Evolution (Director Prof. Dr.
Andrei Lupas). The goal of our Department is to
characterize selected protein families structurally and
functionally with particular emphasis on evolutionary
aspects. We are a multi-disciplinary department, employing
a broad range of biochemical, bioinformatic and molecular
biology techniques. The working language of the Department
is English.
The successful applicant will join the newly established
NMR group based at the Technical University of Munich
(Garching campus), with full access to Bruker 600, 750 and
900 MHz spectrometers. The envisioned project will involve
development and application of methods to provide for the
departments growing need for rapid, medium-resolution
protein structure determination and fold recognition.
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD with experience
and a successful track record in all aspects of protein
structure determination by NMR. Programming and very good
general computer skills are also desirable. The position is
available immediately.
